For years nudist scuba divers have
had to search out dive operators and resorts that are
conducive or friendly to a clothing free atmosphere. Some
have done so while others may have been embarrassed to
ask or to dive nude in the company of clothed divers.
Blush no more. Diverlink, your connection to the world of
diving around the world, brings you the world's first web
page dedicated to diving free, wearing only your dive
gear.
The
site features resorts, cruises and dive operators that
combine scuba diving with the naturist lifestyle.

Who dives nude?
Not
just nudists and naturists. In warm waters, many get the
urge to doff their suits and take the plunge. There's a
certain exhilaration to diving and a heightened sense of
the liquid environment caressing their bodies that just
makes diving au naturel, well, so natural. There are more
people diving like this than you might imagine.
Why dive nude?
If the greater feeling of freedom
isn't enough, there are actually some reasons why diving
nude is safer. Really. Some waters, usually tropical or
subtropical (although New York has encountered this as
well) have occasional blooms of sea
lice.
These nasty little critters get caught under clothing and
sting, creating quite a bit of discomfort. They do not
cling to exposed skin so the less you wear, the less
likely you are to be stung. Trimming or shaving excess
body hair is a good idea also as they can get caught in
it.
Diving nude just might teach
clumsy divers more respect for the environment and force
them to better their skills. Common things like brushing
up against rocks, wrecks, fire coral, coral cuts and
other encounters with the environment, bad enough in
normal diving, can be much worse on more sensitive areas
exposed on underwater nudists. Just the fear of this
happening can make divers more acutely aware of their
buoyancy and other diving skills. Nude diving as a safety
practice, what a concept!
Long ago
life sprang from the sea. Diving is humanity's way of
returning to it. Diving without attire makes us closer to
the other inhabitants and more a part of this world we
visit.
another
advantage is that you don't have to remember to pack a
suit

The sea has given birth
to many legends over the hundreds of years men have
sailed on its surface and journeyed below it. Tales of
monsters and myths have come forth. Fearsome dragons,
devilfish, Scylla, Charybdis, sirens, mermaids and other
legends have abounded for years. Some were real, some
imagined. We present here proof that one legend, at
least, that of a siren beckoning us to follow her, is
real.
For snorkeling, basic
dive gear, mask, fins and snorkel is all that's needed.
That's it.
Hey, where does that starfish think it's going?
Hazards of nude diving
It is men who
risk the only hazards unique to nude diving.
Feeding fish is not recommended by male divers.
More than one has reported being bitten on the male
appendage by some fish that perceived it as a meal.
Men are advised to protect themselves if surrounded by
fish large enough to bite.
